Email log and email-to-channel

What CM Chat sends

CM Chat sends sign-in codes, invitations and notification summaries. Every email is queued, retried if delivery fails, and logged with timestamps. Addresses that bounce or complain are put on a suppression list so we stop sending to them. Summary emails carry an unsubscribe link.

Email log

Open Email log in the admin console to see every email your workspace sent: invitations, sign-in codes and notifications. Each row shows when it was sent, the address, the subject, the type and the status (for example sent, bounced or failed). Search by exact address and filter by status. Times are shown in your local time.

If a person says they did not get an invitation:

  1. Ask them to check spam.
  2. In Invites, click Resend on the invitation. The screen tells you plainly whether the email was sent. If it says nothing was sent (email is not set up, the address is blocked, or sending failed), copy the Invitation link shown there and send it yourself.
  3. If it still fails, email hello@cmchat.app.

Email-to-channel

Each channel can have its own private email address, so people can email a message into the channel. Turning this on, changing the address, and removing it are rolling out. The channel screens may not show the option yet.

Treat the address like a password: anyone who knows it can post into the channel.
