Calls and huddles

Voice and video calls with screen sharing are rolling out. If you do not see a call option in a channel or conversation yet, calls are not available for your workspace. Workspace owners can turn calls on or off in Settings.

What to expect

When calls are on:

• You can join with camera on (Join with camera on), Join now, or Join without mic or camera.
• In a call you can mute yourself, turn your camera on or off, share your screen, and Leave.
• Small calls connect people directly. Larger calls go through CM Chat's call service (Large call). Use Private relay so other participants cannot see your network address, where your workspace offers it.
• Your browser asks permission for the microphone and camera. Allow it for your workspace address.

The Android app does not use the camera or microphone for calls yet. This article will be updated as calls arrive.
